The Karpfinger Agency is interested in representing quality fiction and nonfiction. (Genres that we generally do not represent include poetry, drama, romance, science fiction, fantasy, and children’s picture books.)
We try to respond to submissions promptly, but please allow six weeks for a reply.
Submissions to Barney Karpfinger
Barney prefers not to receive queries via email.
To submit your work, please send a one-page letter of inquiry by regular mail. Be certain to include a brief synopsis of your book, a line or two about your background, as well as both your telephone number and e-mail address.
Please print any supplementary materials on standard letter-sized paper. Do not staple or bind the pages and please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Fiction
Novelists are welcome to submit a ten-page sample from the completed manuscript (we do not accept queries from writers who have partial manuscripts).
Non-Fiction
Nonfiction authors may submit a proposal of up to ten pages. The proposal must include a table of contents from the proposed book, as well as a brief chapter-by-chapter summary. In addition, you are welcome to submit up to three samples of your published articles related to the topic of the book.
